It appears to be safe for dogs and our Teddy has not suffered any side-effects while using this.
It appears to be a far-better bargain than Frontline at the right price. In that case, you may as well grab it in full confidence. It is absolutely a bargain at that price. The product has effectively kept fleas and ticks at bay by our observations. It's competing against an established product and using the same active ingredients that were patented by the original product.
It's like a generic drug selling for a lot less,it's an excellent bargain. The motivating factor at this point would be comparable protection at a lower cost. I have been using this Sentry Fiproguard Plus for Dogs pound on my small under 10 pound dogs for the past year or so. Ever since Advantix changed their formula and caused my dog problems. This Fiproguard squeeze on is easy to use - simply open the tube and part the dogs fur between the shoulder blades and apply.
It had not caused a bad reaction in any of my dogs including my newest puppy that turned 5 months yesterday. They have been flea free and I like that this formula takes care of flea eggs as well as adults. It also takes care of ticks and chewing lice although luckily I have only seen a handful of ticks in this area. I would definitely recommend this formula to anyone looking for decent flea protection for their dogs as it is effective and seems to be less harsh than the other more expensive brands.
This box and previous ones have come without a listed expiration date however I was able to call the phone number for the manufacturer and give them the lot number Printed on the box to get the expiration date. Since the dogs get one of these each month if you have just one dog you will want to make sure it is good for at least 6 months after you get it. I was hopeful that this would do the trick and work as well as Frontline since it is half the price. Unfortunately it doesn't work nearly as well. I've been using Frontline for years because we live in a very tick infested area and it really keeps the insects off out dog.
We don't really have flea issues at all, but ticks are horrible. I decided to give Sentry a try to save a few bucks. Well, you get what you pay for Sentry says it works for a month, but that isn't my experience. After applying it does kill all existing ticks very well, they're all dried up in just a few days. Idk if acetone is in them Verified Purchase. Oh My So I got some pills for my cats to take care of the adult fleas, and got these sentry flea drops to help keep them off. The pills worked fantastic, the drops, the world may never know I opened up the tube, and started parting my cats hair. He sniffed the tube and scurried off. I got ahold of him and started to apply the drops. As soon as 1 drop hit his skin, he meowed very loudly, and hissed at me. Hes never ever given me any kind of attitude before, when applying drops, even takes a real bath.
So i was very surprised by this. All the sudden the smell hit me. The drops have a very strong repulsive smell, that reminds me of acetone. Since flea season never ends in FL, I did end up trying to get more on him before I realized he wasnt liking the drops. At first I thought he wasnt liking the process of getting it on, as he has a serious case of fleas.
I thought maybe he was tender from all the scratching. The tube says for 5 s and up. Im hoping that it still works, but Im throwing away the other 5 tubes, and will find another product. I had seen reviews concerning the smell, and reactions. However they were old, so i had hoped sentry had taken care of those problems. Trying to buy budget friendly flea drops so close to Christmas is going to cost me more in the end. Buyer beware. I was in a hurry and didn't read the reviews. This stuff was so bad, I had to wash it off my cat.
He was miserable, until I realized what was happening and why he was so jittery and acting so weird. So, for a cat tick repellent, look elsewhere please I have 5 cats and I think that this worked great for them. I noticed that after putting this on them that they barely scratched and I also would comb their fur to check for fleas and ticks and did not find any. The cats do stay outdoors although mostly just in our yard and maybe on the neighbors front porch.
Last year they scratched during the summer like crazy and I tried to put a collar on them only to find the collar laying in the drive way since they did not like them. I used a bath once a week last year to help with the scratching but did not obtain the same results as using the Sentry.
I liked it so much I have since bought 2 more treatments. Being an owner of 5 dogs and 2 cats, I tried to look for the best flea med I could find at a reasonable price. Was happy to find this for my 2 long haired pure bred cats. However, once I received it, I immediately applied it to them. It's now about 3 weeks since I put it on them and I have to put it on them again. Even when I initially put it on they only seemed to get relief about 2 good weeks. I have purchased other Sentry products before and had better success than this one. Also, to me, this flea med has a really wicked smell compared to other such products from the same company.
I guess I am going to have to pay the extremely high price of other flea products to get the job done.
Not a happy Sentry customer. I am very upset that I failed to read reviews first. Immediately upon using on my cat he began to lick the treatment off. I looked up concerns with this online and found the horrendous reviews of this product. They have even been reported to the EPA. Within an hour my wife and I used dish soap to wash off as much of the treatment as possible. Our cat acted strange for much of the day. The following morning he has a skin irritation in the middle of his shoulder blades where I placed he treatment along with missing fur.
Please think twice before purchasing and choose not to! I am angry with myself for failing to do so. Our indoor cats still have plenty of fleas after using this product.

The dog is on Frontline and has no fleas but I wanted a cheaper option for the cats and thought this would work since they never actually go outside. Our male cat was infested with fleas while using this, and the female still had a good amount as well. Frontline Plus for Cats and Kittens 1. Exclusive items from Our Brands.

There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Win win! I've always used Frontline and never really thought about looking at other products because it worked until one day I came across this on Amazon and I thought, hey for half the price might as well try it out! The applicater packets are easy to separate and open without making a mess, and I personally found it a bit easier to dispense on my cat than the brand I used to use.
My cat also reacted differently, I don't know if it's because I caught him as he was sleepy or if this Sentry Fiproguard doesn't feel as wet but normally my cat walks around shaking his head and shoulders for a good 30 minutes when I apply his monthly flea prevention. But when I used the Sentry he just looked at me and then went back to sleep. It's been almost one month now and no fleas so so far so good!
This stuff works!!! In all my life of indoor cats this was a first. My girls had a pretty good infestation so I gave them their first dose and then two weeks later gave them a second dose. The box says to do it every four weeks and did not recommend doing a dose that soon after the first but my girls had no side effect to the two week dose. Gave the girls their third dose four weeks after the second dose.
It took that third dose to really see a difference with their scratching. Using this product is only half the battle you have got to vacuum everyday until you are flea free. I recommend using a lint roller every day as well on furniture, cat bedding and their towers. Using Sentry plus helped to rid my home and most importantly my girls of fleas. Between that and living in one of the worst states for fleas, I've been using this on all three cats. I haven't had any problems so I suppose it's money well spent. Some friendly advice - I switched to this stuff after years of using flea collars.
The first time I applied this I did so too quickly and didn't let the liquid soak up. This resulted in too much of the fur being moist with the liquid. One of the cats only 4 months old at the time licked a little up and foamed at the mouth a bit.
